| smooth velvety chocolate vocals with a Keith Urbanesque finish..I just had to describe how I hear his vocals!!! Andy has a very interesting voice, and easy voice to listen to and one that is unique.. ( I actually wrote something like that when we were trying to get him on Ellen in the intro letter with Hawaiisweetcookie) I think that project got tabled though when it was found out Andy would join The Anthemic..wonder if it's still in plans? I could listen to Andy all day..well, except for DC..but when I'm in a more mellow mood, I listen to THH. I like his MWK stuff, but I'll tell ya, personally, the best ep/album they put out was Incoherent With Desire To Move On...with David. Their vocals just blend so freakin' well!!! It's like David is the rough almonds or hazelnuts and Andy is that smooth velvety chocolate...I think I'm getting hungry...ROFLMAO!!! | |

| I agree with you that Andy's voice is very unique. I usually suck at recognizing a person's voice. In fact, I may not even be able to pick out David's voice if it was a song I had never heard before. But I can always recognize Andy's voice.
What's funny is that the first time I ever heard Andy's voice (I think it was one of the THH songs), it was literally jarring to me. I was like: WTF? This is the most interesting singing voice I've ever heard. And after a few listens, it became "this is the most AWESOME singing voice I've ever heard." LOL
In a way, though, I can understand why folks would *not* like Andy's voice, because it really is *that* different and unique. So when I see folks say they don't like it, I just shrug and say "OK." Different strokes for different folks...

| I am one of Andy fans. I listen to ToHaveHeroes and/or MWK alot when I am in bed going to sleep. I love his voice. The only thing is that in some pictures he looks like my brother. I love my brother but it is weird though. Rachel

| Rabrina, my entire family tells me that Andy looks like ME. And *that* is quite weird. | |

| Well look at this... my first post on this board is going to be about Andy. (Sorry, Joey. lol) I have to agree with y'all about the uniqueness of Andy's voice. It's definitely the most unique voice I've ever heard, and to my ears, the most easily recognizable. I couldn't begin to describe it; all I can say is that his voice pierces my heart every time I hear it. Numerous songs of his bring me to tears, not because of the lyrics or instrumentation, but because of that Voice. I find it interesting how different MWK and THH music is, even though Andy sings them both. THH definitely has a mellower, more laid-back vibe, although at times they are every bit as angsty as MWK lyrically. (The first time I really listened to "Better Day" and understood the lyrics, I was left in tears!) MWK has an angrier, more anguished feel to it. Very interesting. Okay, so this has nothing to do with what Andy reminds me of. Sorry about that. | |

| *waves* Hi Nicole!! I attribute the difference in sounds to possibly Neal and his writing. The whole vibe of MWK is more angsty and THH is much mellower. I was surprised too, and I find I actually like Andy's THH project somewhat better than MWK (with the exception of IWDTMO album/ep) THH is also based in acoustics more than electric instruments...which helps showcase Andy's vocals instead of overriding them. IMO. Same with DC. I like it when he does a lot of acoustic stuff, because I can hear his voice better...but, I love the electric/rock band stuff too!! LOL!! I"m all screwed up!!! | |

| I actually *slightly* prefer MWK, because I like that hard-rockin' sound. And I always prefer plugged-in to acoustic. But that being said, I still flove flove FLOVE To Have Heroes. And The Pearls...who have more of a country vibe. Yet I hate country music. Only Andy could make me love music I'd otherwise dislike. lol | |

| I couldn't begin to say if I prefer THH or MWK. I really enjoy all kinds of music, so I like MWK and THH for different reasons. I think I enjoy MWK because of the lyrics and because Andy's voice REALLY hits the sweet spot in a lot of the songs. I enjoy THH because it does showcase Andy's voice more, and I can get lost in his voice that way. ETA how rude of me. *waves* Hi Vikki! | |

| LOL!!! I like all kinds of music too. From Bon Jovi and AC/DC to Sarah Brightman and Josh Groban. I have a pretty eclectic taste. I don't know why I seem to prefer THH more though..can't explain that one. Hmm, forgot about The Pearls..have to look that one up. If anyone has any mp3's they can share of them, would be much appreciated!! | |

| His voice is definitely soothing no matter how crazy the music is his voice is calming. I mostly put on To Have Heroes when I want to be tranquil. It's soothing like warm goo. | |

| It's really hard for me to describe Andy's voice. I agree that it's really unique. Now for my thoughts..... I prefer MWK over THH. Like Coolshades said about liking the hard-rockin' sound. Now off to check twitter... ETA: Forgot to say.... Hi everybody! Heh. | |

| Given that this all started for me with DCTR and snowballed from there, I was a little unsure about Andy's voice when I first heard him sing. But after hearing the range of different music he can sing I REALLY like how he sounds. From the harder rock (early MWK) to his more accoustic THH, I am definitely moved by his voice.
David and Andy sound completely different and that just makes the music they create even better. Sometimes I want to hear David sing Anodyne/Make Me and sometimes I want to hear Andy's version. When they sing together it's even better. (Hunger Strike/Little Lies covers).

| Andy's voice makes me melt !! His voice touchs my heart at a way I cannot explain !! I never get tired to listen to his MWk and THH songs !! One of the Declaration Tour greatest - non-Dave - moments for me, was Andy's performance of Til I'm Blue - I think it was at Firelake Casino... I almost fell on the floor when I heard him singing at the cellcast... And I saved all the available videos !! Andy has his - so deserved - moment of star, with all the lights flashing around him !! It was awesome !! The other one - this one could not be better - was the moment I met him in Sacramento - I was so thrilled that I totally forgot to ask him for an autograph... Bu I got my pic with him - my great treasure !!! (* David don't be jealous guy, you will always be my #1 - and Andy my #2) | |

| I just really think Andy is incredible. From his voice to his looks to his sense of humor and undying admiration for his friends, he just is an amazing human being. Don't ask me to chose between THH and MWK, because honestly I won't be able to do it. Both have produced extraordinary music. Andy and Neal have really created an impressive music catalogue and I selfishly hope they get to continue to do work with To Have Heroes, Midwest Kings and The Anthemic. I've said it a million times, and it's pretty cliche, but we are extremely lucky fans *And seriously for Andy and Neal writing music together!! Can you imagine?!?!* | |
